UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Hub Cologne Officially Launched at MESH Symposium
A fantastic start to the MESH – Multidisciplinary Environmental Studies in the Humanities Symposium on 17 October:
The late afternoon saw the official launch of the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition Hub for Planetary Wellbeing, University of Cologne!
Welcome addresses included opening remarks by Director of the Cologne Hub and „Sharing a Planet in Peril“ (SAPP) member, Dr Kate Rigby. Dr Steven Hartman, Executive Director, provided an introduction to BRIDGES, covering the history and background on the formation of BRIDGES, and the implementation structure of the Hubs, Governing Council, and Members; emphasising the rootedness of BRIDGES in the UNESCO MOST programme. Dr Luci Attala, Deputy Executive Director, and Director of the UK Hub (established in 2022) gave an insight into the work of the BRIDGES International Programme Office (IPO) and some of the exciting initiatives taking place at the UK Hub, both of which are based at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. And Dr Nsah Mala, Co-ordinator of the Cologne Hub, updated all on the insightful and impactful projects and activities recently and currently being undertaken at the Cologne Hub.
It’s a momentous occasion, ripe with promise and possibility; the official launch, and welcoming of the Cologne Hub for Planetary Wellbeing to the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition!
