In the Media: BRIDGES Coordinator Nsah Mala

Nsah Mala is an award-winning poet, writer, children’s author, communicator-journalist, and futurist. At the University of Cologne, he is Coordinator of the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Global Coalition hub for Planetary Wellbeing, closely associated with the Global South Studies Center (GSSC) and the hub for Multidisciplinary Environmental Studies in the Humanities (MESH).

The BRIDGES hub considers “sharing” as a common denominator for Planetary Wellbeing. Accordingly, it plays an important role in the research initiative “Sharing a Planet in Peril” (SAPP), which brings together researchers from GSSC and MESH with a wide network of international partners, especially scholars and affected communities from the Global South.

Recently, Nsah Mala was featured in various media outlets:

  • As guest on 90 Minutes in Africa he discusses the topic: Congo Basin – A Choice between Life & Extinction

  • On CRTV, Cameroon’s state broadcaster, he discusses the Cameroon Pre-Summit Consultation, UN Summit of the Future, futures of the Congo Basin, and sustainable development and wellbeing for current & future generations

  • Nsah explains why we need to be even more serious about the implementations of the outcomes of the UN Summit of the Future. Adopted at the Summit, the Pact for the Future and its annexes address collaborative ways to reform multilateralism & create powerful alliances that empower future generations
