Sharing a Planet in Peril (SAPP) member Prof. Sandra Kurfürst will be featured in the fourth edition of this year’s „Sustainability Discourse“, organized by the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI) of the National University of Malaysia (UKM).

Prof. Kurfürst will present on „Grow at Home, Buy Local: Urban Gardening and Rural-Urban Supply Chains in Northern Vietnam.“

Sandra Kurfürst is a professor for „Cross-cultural and Urban Communication“ at the Department for Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. Her research focus is on urbanism, media and communication, state-society relations, development, visualization in participatory programmes, audiovisual methods and Hip Hop studies with a regional focus on Southeast Asia and the Pearl River Delta.

The event is moderated by Dr. Sharina Abdul Halim, who is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI) and was a visiting scholar at Global South Studies Center (GSSC) in late 2022.
